Large Standing Werewolf Pendant with Black Ball Chain Necklace - 3 Finish Options - Gift Boxed
Regular price$ 39.00
My large original design standing werewolf pendant depicts the pain, shock, and ecstasy of the first change - transforming from human to werewolf. The elongating head with the bulging eye, upraised outstretched changing hands/paws, bulging shoulder muscles, the elongation of the spine and pushing out of the tail, hair springing out all over the body, the changed legs, and feet - all speak to the supernatural forces rippling violently through its former humanly body.
My standing werewolf pendant measures a large 2.25 inches (57mm) tall by 1.25 inches (31.7mm) wide. It weighs approximately 1 ounce (28.1 grams) with necklace. The pendant was hand-sculpted by a wildlife artist for me based on my drawings and designs. From the wax model, a highly detailed mold was created. It was then precision cast in solid metal alloy and given a durable satin finish in your choice of three colors.
The necklace is a 24" premium quality 4.2mm diameter black stainless steel ball chain with lobster clasp The stainless steel chain is hypoallergenic (will not cause a reaction against your skin) and will never rust or corrode. This same premium quality black ball chain is sold in stores for $25 - $35.
THE STORY BEHIND MY WEREWOLF FIRST CHANGE PENDANT Much has been written and cinematically portrayed about werewolves - but almost nothing about the change has been captured in jewelry designs - to portray the effect on the human body and psyche of that first change from human to WEREWOLF! My werewolf pendant is based on a story told to me by someone I met a very long time ago - who swore he was a werewolf and manifested behavior that was at the very least, freaky. He would become increasingly anxious, irritable and weird as each full moon drew closer - then flee into the night of every full moon, wherever he was at - then not being seen again for days. He claimed that during the "change" he had to be away from everyone he knew. One night, driven half crazy myself out of curiosity, I chased after him, and in the light of the full moon in a nearby forest clearing, I witnessed him changing into a terrible beast. For over 30 years that vision has been the stuff of my nightmares. By creating this piece I have been in part able to purge the horrors of what I saw that night.
