Regular price $ 49.00
My Aztec Calendar coin is based on the Legendary Aztec Calendar Stone carved by Aztec artists in 1479. It has the appearance of an ancient relic uncovered by archaeologists. Share you love of the Aztec culture and its artifacts. Included with each is my signed certificate of authenticity, a deluxe gift box and velvet jewelry pouch - and my Aztec Calendar Stone story card.

The coin is set in a genuine polished stainless steel coin bezel. It's a great look - and designed for those who want a more substantial and durable pendant - and those who only want hypoallergenic metal against their skin. The optional hypoallergenic stainless steel polished 6mm thick wheat design chain can be ordered in one of 7 different necklace lengths -all for the same price. If ordering without the chain necklace the bail at the top of the pendant will accept necklaces up to approximately 8mm in diameter.

The coin before mounting in the setting is approximately 1.5 inches (38mm) in diameter - the same large size as a U.S. Mint Morgan Silver Dollar, The coin is hand cast in lead-free jewelry grade pewter. I hand finish each to create the ancient artifact look. The width of the pendant is approximately 1.55 inches or 39.5mm wide.

HOW TO SIZE YOUR NECKLACE
To ensure a good fit please follow these instructions - I charge to resize incorrectly ordered necklaces. Using a piece of string or cloth measuring tape place one end at the point on your chest where you would like the pendant to rest. Then take the other end up and around your neck back to this point. Measure that length and select the closest size from the drop-down menu above.

ABOUT THE AZTEC CALENDAR SUN STONE
My Aztec Calendar Stone coin design pays tribute to the legendary Aztec Calendar Stone carved by Aztec artists in 1479. In 1790 during renovations of the Central Square in Mexico City, a massive carving was unearthed. It was the Aztec calendar stone, or, more properly, the Cuauhxicalli Eagle Bowl. It is a massive carving, 3 feet thick, almost 12 feet across, and weighing over 22 tons. It was carved from basalt - a solidified lava, this being an area where volcanoes were common. The famous calendar stone is a brilliant combination of artistry and geometry. It reflects the Aztec understanding of time and space as wheels within wheels. The detailed surface of the stone combines the understanding of the gods the people had created over the centuries as well as their observations of the heavens.
